When Lighting strikes
1-800-Where-r-You

I had already read this book. This book is about a girl name Jessica who is struggling in school and gets detention almost every week. One day she got a week of detentions because Jessica punched a guy name Jeff. So she was late so she had to walk home with her friend name Ruth. While there were walking, they were talking about getting into shape so they can get invited to a pool party. While they were talking, the weather was starting so get worse. Thunder plus hail was happening, they had to get a shelter. They were a football bleacher, so they took shelter under that. The weather was getting worse. Jessica was hit by a lightning. She woke up after a 5 minutes. Jessica was feeling better than ever; she was feeling great after the lightning. Ruth was telling her “we should go to the hospital”. But Jessica felt fine.

More thoughtful questions

1. What can we learn from the pitching coach that could translate to how we learn in school or with writing?

We can learn from the pitching coach that could translate to how we learn in school or with writing is that they have experienced the learning and the failure. It is also same with teachers who tried teaching in different ways.

2. What would the equivalent of a “change-up” be in writing?

3. Explain what you think the author means by the following selection:

Failure, in many ways, is the default setting in baseball. A pitcher can be on a roll and cruising through a game, but he is always just one bad pitch, or one fielding mistake, away from a meltdown. The thing Bryan Price teaches is not how to win all the time. What he teaches is how to right your self when you falter or fail.

The author is trying to say is that if you never practice and tried setting your skills; you will never be a good pitcher. But if you know how to set up your skills and practice on your failure, you will succeed in the next game. Then if you can be a good pitcher and then you could help others to learn

The Anthem & Fahrenheit 451 Quiz

The book Fahrenheit and Anthem is the setting in the Dystopian time. The story pretty much tells us the government can brain wash the people and make the people to do something that the people wont want to do. The similarity that the authors talk about in their book, is their Protagonist are struggling because of the government laws that they have to do. Montag and Equality 7-2521 are men who are disagreeing on the laws that they have to follow. Montag had to burn books and Equality 7-2521 is assigned jobs and does know how to use the word I. The similarities are that in anthem are telling the people to not to write and the Fahrenheit telling people not to read. Reading and Writing is against their law because it tells people to its is bad, but the Government is thinking when people start reading and write they are going to have thoughts about the law that the government is making them what to do when they can do it when it doesn’t harm anybody. The others similarity is that people in this story at the end find a way to get away when they have to other idea and also when they caught what they are doing that is against the law. The Anthem is when Equality7-2521 is telling the counselor that they have been making an light glass box in a unmentionable tunnel and than the counselor say that you are going to be in trouble so then Equality has to run away before they catch them. In the Fahrenheit 451 is that Montag is forcing his feeling to do reading because that reading for him that he would find the reason why the government wont let the people read. So the main thing is that both characters are struggling to make a differences and at the end, the both characters new life and they think to start a new community.
